When you lodge a job for Excavation purposes, within Road Reserve, in an area where the council is registered for PermitAccess, you will see a popup on your summary screen saying a permit has been created:
This popup has a PermitMonitor button which will take you straight to the particular permit.
In some cases, your request may trigger more than one road authority (e.g. NZTA as well as the council). If the different authorities use different permitting systems the popup will provide instructions on accessing both applications:
If the pop-up only contains instructions to go to CAR History, you will need to lodge your documentation via that channel instead. Click here for information on using CAR History.
Your summary screen will also show an extra line on the Utility list showing the council/traffic authority with a status of "Permit Request Sent":
When you open PermitMonitor, you may receive an error saying "The permit request is still being processed":
This doesn't mean that the permit request has failed. PermitMonitor is still generating the permit following the beforeUdig lodgement. This process should not take very long. Close the permit and re-open after a couple of minutes.
