Once a permit has been generated and is available in PermitMonitor, you will need to complete the following steps:
1. Fill in the Details section:
- Complete and save Traffic Management details
- Complete and save the Schedule details
- Complete and save the Contact List
2. Download all documents sent by the Road Authority and upload responses as required. You may also need to accept the Conditions if required by the road authority.
3. The road authority will approve the various details and documents on their end. They also have the options to amend or reject them. You and the road authority can be in contact via the Messages section of PermitMonitor or by the phone number on your confirmation sheet.
4. Once the road authority has approved your permit, you will be notified and the status in PermitMonitor will change to "Approved":
5. You will now need to keep the road authority updated with the progress of your job by changing this status at each stage of the job. Click here for more information on what to do after your permit is approved.
6. Once the job is completed, it will go into Remedial Work Required or Warranty as needed. If after an inspection by the council more work needs to be done, the council will specify this and change the status to "Remedial Work". Once this work is completed to satisfactory standard, the council will put the permit into Warranty, and the status will change accordingly. This is a period of time set by the council to make sure the works are done to a good quality and still in tact after the set period. See What do I need to do in PermitMonitor after my job is complete? for further details on Remedial Work, Inspection and Warranty.
7. Finally, the council will close the permit. The permit will still be visible on the PermitMonitor dashboard.
